so. it is sunday. can i just say that i love my weekends now?
on friday i had my midterm examination as a teacher.
yeah. it was some pretty big stuff. my exam occurred during my third period class, which is a smaller one, which makes me happy.
did i tell them before hand?
OH YES I DID.
no lie, as every kid walked in i said to them " not that you are ever a problem kid, but please, i'm being observed today, and if you could participate, that would be reallly awesome."
some kids were nice, others saw that as an opportunity for a free for all. great.
in general, they were nice kids though.
i will say that one of my favorite kids walked in with a "cara de trajedia" which means face of tragedy. i asked him what was wrong, and he informed me that someone had informed him how "of mice and men" had ended. poor thing. he was so upset.
is it wrong that it made me a little happy? not that he was upset. ok, maybe that he was a little upset. but also that he was so happy and involved in the book.
kids reading is awesome!
OH! funny story, today i was at breakfast, and lo and behold i run into a student. thankfully, it was a nice one that generally likes me.
you know what was really awesome, when he said " so this is awkward... huh?" and i replied "yes. yes it is."
but we hugged and i said bye, and i went to breakfast. i've got some good kids.
wednesday is TAKS. who is excited!!! me!!
